Hard Disk Crashes Every 15 Minutes

Hard Disk Crashes Every 15 Minutes

Computer can crash even when your browsing the internet, or to be more precise when your reading this article. Computer crashes come as a result of many reasons other been major or minor. What is affected as major component of the computer is the hard disk.
Computer registry having errors can lead to a crash. The registry is like the nervous system of the system. It should be regularly cleaned using software like “registry clean up” and many other. This is to get rid of addresses of programs that were long time uninstalled and any to other unused registered scripts.  The files get their way to the hard disc.

Users who switch of systems directly from the start button pose there machine to greater chances of computer crashes. Crash is possible as the system sends processes to the CPU but suddenly power cut off, the process are left unattended creating errors. These errors are the cause of the crashes that happen every 15 minutes some where in the world. In this review there is a disconnection with the hard disc resulting to corrupt files if no precautions are taken.

Software errors like installing the wrong drivers for a hardware device may lead to interrupted integration of the device leading to system halt. The computer stores its errors which are viewable through the event log. When errors pile up and little action is done the systems stands a chance to get a crash.

Viruses cause file corruption, file damage. They also create files that duplicate themselves. If these viruses happen to enter the bios system, they can lead to computer crashes destruction  to the hard disc sectors.

What ever the case might be you’re always vulnerable to loss data once a crash occurs. Data recovery experts can help in recovering your data and fixing any form of damage that the device may have incurred.

Bad Hard Drive and PC Freezing

Bad Hard Drive and PC Freezing

Many people are unaware of the importance of the hard drives to their PCs. The hard drive stores their most important information and it would be good to make sure that it is in good condition. The question posed then would be: How does one know when they have a bad hard drive?

One sign of a bad hard drive is if your computer system keeps rebooting. When you startup your computer and during the boot process it restarts or reboots on its own then that is an indicator that you have a bad hard drive. This is mainly caused by the presence of viruses in the boot files i.e. the boot files have been corrupted in such a way that when they are executed by the system, they sequence of booting is repeated over and over again. The virus corrupts the boot files by causing them to form a loop and this is why the computer will keep rebooting.

Another indication of a bad hard drive is when you experience many error messages. Some of the error messages you will experience are: ‘Missing Hard Drive’, ‘Operating System Missing’, ‘Hard Drive Failure’ and any other error message related to the hard drive. These error messages come about as a result of corruption of files in the hard drive, again caused by the presence of viruses.

PC freezing is another indicator of bad hard drives. If your computer freezes often, then the hard drive could be having problems. Freezing mainly occurs when the system takes long or is unable to locate certain files that may be needed to carry out certain processing. As stated a number of times in this article, one of the causes of freezing is viruses. This is because once corruption of files occurs, when the system locates them, it will take long to interpret them. The other cause of freezing is lack of hard drive space. If your hard drive is overloaded with a lot of information, locating some files will take long and may lead the computer to freeze.

If you find you are in this situation and are in fear that your data will be lost do not despair.

Data Recovery – Avoid this and recover your data

Data Recovery – Avoid this and recover your data

After losing some very important information on your computer, laptop or even the server of your organization, there are some things that should be avoided completely. They are as follows:

In case you do not know what to do at all after you have lost the deleted files, DO NOT PANIC!! Panic is one of the greatest enemies of data recovery. In extreme cases, panic can cause company closure. This is how: if someone panics and begins telling everybody in the organization that data has been lost, word may leak out and clients may get to know about it and then the reputation of company will be spoilt. After data loss the best thing is to report to the relevant authorities like the ICT manager who should eventually consult a data recovery company so that they give the necessary guidance on how to try and retrieve your data before doing a whole lot of damage. They have the necessary skill and technology needed for recovering your data.

Another thing you should never do after noticing that your data is missing is to run and install software. This can be very detrimental to your data because it may lead to permanent data loss. Since you don’t know what the specific problem is, do not install or even save any programs, files or software. Storing more information in a hard drive that is failing may cause overwriting of information on it and this is as good as permanently deleting your data.

In relation to this, you should avoid running utility programs. If it is really necessary for you to do so then make sure you have an IT specialist with you because if you don’t run them correctly, you could lose your data permanently. Some of these utility programs are like scandisk, chckdisk and Norton disk doctor. They should be run with extreme caution.

But if your hard drive has already failed you can get affordable data recovery services.

Data Recovery Services – Choose wisely

Reliable data recovery services

When looking for reliable data recovery services there are some things you should look for. Not all data recovery experts are genuine. There are others who will mess up your hard drive and will then tell you that the data is unrecoverable. To avoid such situations you can check the data recovery services company for the following:
Get to know the methods and technology being used to perform the recovery services. Making a visit to the premises where the recovery is done would be good so that you can see some of the tools, technology and software being used. You can be able to judge whether the technology is up-to-date or outdated. Some things you may ask are: Is the equipment being used a reflection current technology? What is the general environmental condition of the data recovery area? It would also be good to inquire on the methods to be used to recover data and some small explanation. This will help in making proper judgments about the company.

It would be good to get some general procedures and background information on data recovery. Have one of the experts give a general explanation of the process. Most companies should give that description but there are some corporate secrets that they may never tell. Ask as many questions as possible to gauge the competency of the recovery experts. Having some insight on what takes place during the data recovery process may help one judge the competencies of a certain data recovery company.

Also, check for qualifications. These qualifications include license certificates, certificates of operation and also tax compliant certificates. This helps in getting to know the genuineness of the company e.g. it would be good to know the minimum standards a company should have attained before having be fully declared as a data recovery company.

Data Safety for your Database

Data Safety for your Database

Most large organizations have databases that need to be maintained well. Some of them even have database administrators who are in charge of making sure that the database is working efficiently.

But in many organizations, PC users may not necessarily know how to use the database. One thing they may not know is that if someone abruptly disconnects from a database, a” corruption flag” may be set. This means that the database is in a corrupt state. Once in such a state anyone attempting to access the database will receive a message that the database has been corrupted and needs to be repaired. If the database is not repaired in good time, it will bring about loss in productivity as well as frustration from users. To keep your database safe, you should consider one of the following:

Exit the database correctly. After finishing your work on the database, always exit it in the correct way. Using some shortcuts such as Ctrl+Alt+Del can bring about major problems on ones database. It is a good practice to exit the database the correct way.

Split the database so that you can make work easier. Splitting here involves separating the “front-end” parts from the “back-end” parts. The front end parts include forms, reports and queries while the back-end parts contain only the data tables. A copy of the front end is placed in each user’s computer while the back-end is placed in a shared folder within a network. This means that the data tables don’t have to be moving from user to user because it is in this movement that data tables become corrupt hence loss of data. If one may be experiencing corruption problems with a database on a network, splitting the database is important to stop this.

Lastly, after finishing with a database ensure that you close all the open connections. Leaving open connections will allow more opportunities for ‘unwanted’ dropped connections i.e. automatic closing of the connection.

Dying Laptop – Please help me!

Dying Laptop – Please help me!

These days laptops are one of the most common computers that are used. I guess they are preferred because of their portable nature. Being able to go with it to various places is an added advantage. But as a laptop user, do you know if it is dying? Check out the following to see if it is dying:

Strange sounds:

As you use your laptop, it would be good to pay attention to small details such as sounds that may be coming from the hard drive. This could mean that there could be problems with the hardware of the laptop, especially the hard drive. These sounds can be click sounds, whirring and buzzing sounds. The hard disk contains some internal components such as an actuator arm, a read/ write head, platters, just to mention but a few. The whirring sounds could be caused as a result of some components within the hard drive touching each other. When you experience such scenarios it would be good to contact a data recovery expert to look at the problem.

Error messages:

If you experience many error messages such as the following, then it means that your laptop is dying: “Disk Failure”, “Disk needs Formatting”, ”Operating System missing” or any other unusual error that deals with the hard drive. These error messages signify that your computer is about to crash. Error messages are a clear indication of corruption of files in the hard drive. This is mainly caused by viruses which are programs that change existing files in the hard drive. So the next time you get error messages that deal with the hard disk or the Operating System, know that your computer could be crashing.

If your laptop is dying you can always get affordable data recovery services done for you.

How to Recover a Corrupted Hard Drive

Having a Corrupt Hard Drive

Corrupted hard drives can be recovered’ is statement many people don’t believe. Most computer users know that once the hard drive fails that is the end of their information. But I have come to give you good news. Your information in that corrupted hard drive can be recovered. Here is how:

One way you can do this is by using recovery software. There are some certain software that can be used to recover data and files that have been lost. This software can also be downloaded for free from the internet. But extreme care should be taken when using this software. My view is that you don’t use this software at all. This is because your hard drive could be having physical problems that may be causing it to be corrupted. Using this software can actually have disastrous effects where you can lose your data permanently. You may think it is a cheap way but it may cost you more. The next method is the one I would recommend.

You can opt for data recovery services. These kinds of services are done by professional data recovery experts. These are people who are well trained in the data recovery process. They have acquired the necessary skill, technology and tools for performing data recovery. All you have to do is to send your hard drive to them. When they receive it, a thorough diagnosis of the problem will be done. A report detailing the results of the diagnosis will be forwarded to you so that you can have a scope of the problem the experts are dealing with. Once you agree on whether the process should proceed, they will begin the recovery process. Depending on the amount of data to be recovered, it will take an average of 3-4 days to perform the recovery. After the data has been retrieved it will be given to you in the storage device of your choice.

Methods of Database Recovery

Have you dropped your laptop? Is it overheating? Is your Database having issues? Do you Suspect the hard drive has Crashed?

Any information belonging to an organization is usually stored in form of a database. In case information is lost in the database, it would have major negative effects on the organization. Data recovery analysts have found out that it can cost you upto $8000 per MB to recreate client information. This is because of various costs that may be incurred such as overtime pay of re-entry, transportation costs for the client and also communication costs.

To help reduce on these costs, it would be good to employ database recovery services. It would cost a few thousand dollars but is way cheaper than the cost of recreating data. In case of data loss, some steps have to be taken in order to assure safe backup and full recovery of all lost information is done.

The first important step is to choose the most appropriate database recovery. At the moment, there are three methods of database recovery.

The first one is the simple database recovery. This method is used when a database administrator decides that the transactions are not as important as the main data of the database. In this case, one only needs to save the main data and ignore the transactions that had occurred. The data can be recreated in a short time and may not necessarily need experts to do it. But it is good not to take a chance because if one is not careful, you may end up losing all the information in the database.

The second and the third method include full recovery and bulk-logged recovery. In these two methods, one has to protect both the data in the database and all the necessary transactions relating to the database. These 2 methods are more technical and sophisticated. The have to be done with experienced technicians such as data recovery specialists. In addition, the above methods need more system requirements and disk drive space. The data recovery experts will come with the necessary software to carry out recovery. This will all depend on the scope of failure experienced. If the failure is major, then they will have to take your server and perform the recovery in their labs. Otherwise, they will just run the recovery software and will be able to recover your data.

What causes your computer to lose files?

What causes your computer to lose files?

As you use your computer, beware that you can lose your files at any time. Here are some situations and things that may cause you to lose your file:

Human error:

As a human being, you are bound to make a few mistakes here and there. One way this can occur is through accidental erasure. For example, let’s say you are working on a certain document and you accidentally hit the delete button. When a dialog box appears, you just click ‘OK’ and continue. You may have not noticed but probably you might have deleted a certain folder. It was done mistakenly and you probably did not know what was going on. Such situations happen and in this way you may end up losing your files.
Another way human beings can cause loss of files on your computer is by allowing other people to use your machine without access. They may come and delete some of your files, either deliberately or accidentally.

Viruses:

Viruses are programs written to bring about corruption of files, especially files stored in storage devices like hard disks and USB flash disks. Viruses can be gotten from the internet i.e. by accessing certain sites (especially porn sites), downloading certain free software, email attachments and also from external storage devices that are introduced to your computer . The virus will infect your computer files and thus will become corrupted. This is why in most cases when you look for certain files, they cannot be accessed. They are in a corruptible form. The worst part about computer viruses is that, like their medical counterparts, they replicate to infect many files.

This is one of the reasons why when purchasing a new computer , it is recommended to install anti-virus software to protect your computer against viruses.

Why is your computer freezing?

Why is your computer freezing?

Just like any other man made machine, computers are bound to malfunction at some point. One of the common malfunctions of the computer is freezing. Freezing (or hanging) occurs when you issue an instruction to the computer and nothing happens. In some cases, when you attempt to move the mouse it doesn’t scroll on the screen. If you have experienced this before or you are currently experiencing it, then one of the following has occurred:

RAM and Hard disk space: Lack of regular maintenance of the computer is what leads to computer freezing and crashing. If the computer is overloaded with information, then there is a high chance that it might freeze. Computer technicians have found out that the RAM should have at least 25{73e286255f8194ac3b1dced4eeed3e8ee658b795cb770d1b882a79304e7a95d4} free memory left. This also applies to the hard disk space. If this is not so, very little work can be done as the computer would be extremely slow in processing your information. It is also necessary to perform defragmenting of the hard disk to utilize as much space as possible.

Installing new hardware: It is possible to follow the events that led to the freezing of the computer. If you happened to install new hardware and the computer began freezing then it clearly indicates that the hardware was not properly installed or it is not compatible with your computer. To solve this problem, one may uninstall the suspected hardware and reboot the PC. There is some hardware that needs drivers. It could be possible that you have to install the drivers after installing the hardware. It may or may not work but it will reduce the chances of computer screen freezes.

Installing new software: Just as in the case above, the same situation applies here. There is some software that is really large and takes quite a lot of disk space. If the PC started freezing immediately after installing new software, then it means it is the software that is slowing the system down. One may opt to uninstall it.
